What is the Pig Island entrance fee?

Koh Madsum charges a small entrance fee of about 50 THB per person. You pay in cash on the island (last checked October 2026). Several operators report that young children go free.

If your route includes Koh Rap, expect a similar fee of about 50 THB per person, also in cash. Koh Tan, the usual snorkel stop, does not normally charge.

Tip: Bring small notes. Change can run short on the island, and you should not count on a cash machine there.

Child prices

  • Children 3–11 pay the child price where one is listed, usually 200 THB less than the adult price.
  • Infants 0–2 travel free on shared tours unless the tour page says otherwise.
  • Boutique Yachting uses its own bands: 2,900 THB for ages 5–11, free for ages 0–4.
  • Private boats are one price for the boat, so children cost nothing extra.

What costs extra on the day?

  • Drinks and snacks at the beach bar on Koh Madsum or the restaurants on Koh Tan. Island prices are higher than on Samui.
  • Food for the animals. The beach bar has sold food for the pigs. Only give a little, and only when the guide says so. Do not bring your own.
  • Kayaks outside what the tour provides. On Koh Rap, rental is about 300 THB.
  • Fins. Most tours include a mask and snorkel but not fins.
  • Tips for the crew are optional and always welcome.

What makes a tour cheaper or dearer?

Four things drive the price more than anything else.

  • Boat type. Longtails are cheapest to run. Speedboats burn more fuel. Yachts and catamarans cost the most.
  • Shared or private. Shared seats are cheapest for one to three people. A private boat wins once your group grows.
  • Length and route. A 4-hour two-island trip costs less than a full day that adds Koh Rap or dolphin spotting.
  • Inclusions. Check for hotel transfer, lunch and the island fee. A cheap ticket without them can end up dearer.
